Brad R. Cook
Author and Historian
I see things that never were and say, “Why not?”
Brad R. Cook, is the author of historical fantasy, and award-winning short stories. He began as a playwright, dipped into the corporate writing world, and served as co-publisher and acquisitions editor for Blank Slate Press. He currently serves as Historian of St. Louis Writers Guild after three and half years as President. He learned to fence at thirteen, and never sets down his sword, but prefers to curl up with a centuries’ old classic.
More about me…
I had the honor of serving as President of St. Louis Writers Guild (2011-2015). Founded in 1920, the nonprofit organization has remained one of the Midwest's preeminent literary guilds. A member since 2007, I encourage any writer to seek out their local literary groups.

I'm proud to have played a role in:
Writers in the Park - a free to attend writers festival held annually from 2010-2016
The Legacy Project - a several year project to research SLWG history and famous members who have emerged from its ranks.
Young Writers Awards - a writing contest for young writers that continues to this day.
Big thanks to the Interns, Board Members, and Volunteers who made the project and the writers guild a tremendous success!
